From home to business, from desktop to web and now this new ipad development is made available as a part of Office 365. Microsoft just recently unveiled its version of Office software for Apple iPad after popular demand giving the consumer more options.
Kim Forrest the senior equity analyst at Fort Pitt Capital Group and a former software engineer says the move validates the iPad as a device that has potential in the enterprise space. While Microsoft makes most of its money from enterprise, Apple has yet to make a strong business case for the iPad in the enterprise space.
Nonetheless, investors are split between maintaining Microsoft’s exclusivity with Windows or expanding onward to making all other Microsoft assets Windows independent. Ultimately, working to do both would be costly, warned Citi analyst Walter Pritchard, noting that strengthening the future of Office is more important than building a consumer future for Windows.
